I don't usually cry at movies. Or at anything outside my head. The closest I get is that weird floaty feeling you get in your stomach when you read a sentence or line that resonates like a tuning fork. But I just watched the Turtles All The Way Down film and I was sniffling into my pillows like some kind of protagonist. And I remembered being sixteen and highlighting those lines in the book that made my stomach float. And I remembered wanting so desperately to be "better enough". And I guess, all this is to say, thank you. And thank everyone who made the film and everyone who made them get far enough to make it.
thank you thank you thank you.
I’ve received so many beautiful messages about the turtles all the way down movie. I wish I could reply to each of them. Thank you for caring about this movie. Thank you for bringing your deepest self to it.
