(concept by @blackboard-monitor; execution by unpaid coffee company intern)
Any time anyone does something in an attempt achieve immortality, or to make their mark on the human story, I’d like to be able to go to their house and sit next to them on the couch and just whisper in their ear, “You know we’re just ants, right?”
We’re just ants, okay?
Just be nice to each other.
We’re- we’re ants-
Zoom out a little bit
and look at us.
We’re trying so hard.
Like, each of us.
Can’t you just-
Just try to be nice to- to us.
We’re just ants.
See Results-John Green, Dear Hank and John episode 359, “Converted to Goldendoodles”, converted to poll form by me
When some techtopian snorts their own supply and prattles on about how that they will heal the broken world through middle-out data compression, I just want to whisper into their ears, “We’re ants, buddy. We’re just little ants. This is not about you. Insofar as it’s about anything, it’s about the anthill.”
eremiss asked:
How does an intern for a coffee company usually enjoy their coffee? Black? Lots of sugar and milk?
“When we are young, we drink our coffee with milk and sugar. As we age, we drink it with milk only. Then we drink it black. Then decaf. Then we die.” -George Shea
This unpaid coffee company intern is at decaf.
Nothing in this broken world is as hilarious to me as people thinking that tumblr is going to be overrun by celebrities. I am an unpaid intern for a coffee company that donates its profit to charity.
I haven’t published a novel in six years. I am best known for making educational video. Calling me a celebrity is an insult to both celebration and identity.
anxiety is so weird like why is my mental illness in my stomach
Your stomach is connected to the mental illness glob with lots of tiny soggy strings.
In even worse news, it’s possible that your mental illness is at least in part caused by microorganisms that are not technically you and yet live and breed and die without every leaving your gut and shape your experience of consciousness in ways we do not fully understand.
So that’s fun.
just watched this- its such a good video. Please watch!! Its about addressing systemic poverty!!!
Lots of you have asked about our project with PIH, so here’s the video where we announced it. (Since then, the scope of the project has grown a lot! Our community, in partnership with PIH and the Sierra Leone Ministry of Health, is now on pace to raise over $35,000,000 to staff, support, and supply not just the Maternal Center of Excellence but also several primary healthcare centers in the region over the next five years.
So yeah that coffee is doing some good in the world!
